When you think of garment racks, you most likely think of two things – shopping or laundry. However, garment racks can be lifesavers outside of shopping and laundry and it’s the people who already use them that have figured this out!
Garage Sales
How many times have you gone bargain hunting only to find piles of clothing laid out on a blanket to rummage through or strings drooping between two trees holding a mass amount of hanging clothes. Garment racks are mutually beneficial at garage sales. Not only are they easy to shop, but clean up is also a breeze. You are more likely to sell your items if they are easily seen and accessible. Craft Shows
This is another time where a garment rack is the perfect hand made scarf or yarn holder. In fact, a garment rack can hold many hand made crafts or clothing items. And not only will it be easier to set up your display, people will be attracted to your organized layout and be able to fully appreciate your hand made work.
Cleaning Blankets
I have to say, this is my favorite alternative use for a garment rack. We all know that cleaning blankets and comforters is a huge pain. However, with a garment rack handy there is less of a burden. After washing your blanket you can easily drape your blanket, comforter or quilt over the garment rack. This way, it dries evenly and you don’t have to worry about warping any banisters or breaking your dryer.
Coat Check
Having a party? You might forget, but your garment rack makes the perfect coat check rack. Don’t worry about a giant pile of coats in the spare bedroom, just put your garment rack by the door and have enough hangers for guests! Your guests will appreciate the gesture and their coats won’t be wrinkled either. Another great use is for your coats in the summer. Don’t let your closets get overcrowded by coats you aren’t wearing. Putting them on a garment rack and in the basement will keep them ready for the winter season.
