Sometimes it’s crazy to imagine how many ways there are to use a garment rack. But hang in there! Here’s a new one!

There are collapsible garment racks that would be great for bring back and forth from your booths. This first option comes in a variety of sizes and is constructed of commercial grade materials. It breaks down for easy storage and travel and also has wheels for convenience.

The second option for you is the Fol-D-Rak, a portable garment rack. It’s great because it is lightweight, only 6 pounds, and it holds up to 150 pounds or 40-60 garments! The rack folds up to a slim 4” wide so it’s easy to store and easy to travel with.

The main difference between these two items is the size, weight and wheels.

Both of these options will work great at the flea market coming up!

Thanks for the question and we’ll be answering more questions next week for Hangin’ Out.

Hangin’ Out is a weekly question and answer column where you can get your garment rack questions and problems solved!

Now that its 2010, let us take closer look at a very convenient and helpful garment rack. This covered garment rack is ideal for storing and organizing your out of season clothing. There are many desirable features about this rack, the most important being the canvas covering. The cover offers the ultimate protection from dust, bugs and odor. The zipper allows easy access and the rolling casters enable you to put it wherever is best for you. Another fun feature is the side slots inside the cover for cedar boards. The cedar boards will keep your clothes smelling refreshed while being stored for any period of time. Fifty pounds is the maximum weight the rack can hold, so it’s not really for heavy storage or commercial use.

Making your own garment rack cover is also an option. With a sewing machine and supplies you can make a custom cover for a garment rack you already have around the house. You can easily close the garment rack with fabric ties instead of a zipper. The cover you make can be washable, removable and have your personal touch.

Pant trolleys are not only ideal for saving space in the closet, but they also take care of your investment in pants. The pant rack will keep your pants wrinkle-free and organized.

Most of the trolleys have attached hangers, so there is no hassle of clipping the pants on, just put them over the rod and call it good. This type of rack is perfect for quick hang up.

Another great thing about the pant trolley is the size. Some garment racks can have a tendency to be bulky, however, the pant trolley is small and sleek. A perfect fit for the extra closet space under your hanging shirts and jackets.

My favorite pant trolley option is available inexpensively at http://www.stacksandstacks.com/garment-racks/769-1000/. I’m all about multi-purpose products and this rack is just that. With shoe hangers on each side and a canvas shelf at the bottom for accessories, this is perfect for any man!

Another great option for a pant trolley is wheels. Wheels are ideal because the pant rack can easily go from laundry room to closet without hassle. You don’t have to worry about wrinkling your pants in the process of getting them to the trolley.

No matter what the style of your closet may be, you will not have trouble finding a pant trolley that matches well. There are many styles of wood and metal frames available.

A little scary to picture, I know, but it is very possible. There are many garment racks available to help you get your laundry room under control!

Garment racks are great for hanging your clothes to dry. Before I got one, it wouldn’t be uncommon to find clothes hanging on the shower rod, doorways and on chairs. I know I’m not the only one who has ever draped a pair of wet pants over the dryer in order to dry. The great thing about a garment rack is that all of the laundry clutter is eliminated.

The portability of the rack is great, too. Easy to move, you can put it anywhere that is convenient to dry your clothing.

Drying clothing is not the only great reason to get a garment rack for your laundry room. Another great function of a garment rack is to hang your laundry as you iron. You can conveniently hold all the items you need as you iron and hang them all up as you go.

This laundry garment rack is perfect for all your laundry needs! Offered at stacksandstacks.com, this garment rack comes with all the necessities for doing laundry.

There are three hanging racks, perfect for slacks, small t-shirts and men’s hanging shirts. The shelf on the bottom and top are perfect for storing laundry soap, iron and any other laundry products you use.

So, take control of the laundry room clutter! Don’t let the laundry room be somewhere you dread going. With a handy garment rack, getting your laundry finished and organized will be a breeze.

Hi folks, Nicole here. I hadn’t been seeing alot of really cool garment racks lately, because I was busy studying the art of metaphysical self transportation. I have to say that it kinda worked. But it was kinda scary too. I was just dreaming of Cabo San Lucas, and then, I WAS THERE. Really there. IN THE OCEAN, too. So all my clothes were wet. You can BET that I could have used a GARMENT RACK at that moment! But then I thought about being home, and poof, I was home again! Metaphysical self transportation is dangerous and scary and very real. Be careful!

When it comes to hangers for my garment rack, what is the best option? There are so many hangers out there I just get overwhelmed trying to figure it out. Can you help me?

-Hannah with hangers on the brain

Hi Hannah!

I am glad you asked this question because it is something everyone wonders about. There are so many hanger options out there, it’s normal to be overwhelmed. Before you head to the store for your hangers you need to take a good look at the clothes you are planning on hanging. There are different hangers for different pieces of clothing, so it is important to pay attention to that.

For hanging pants you’ll want to get a hanger with a clamp. I have found that plastic clamps do not work as well as a strong metal one. I hang my jeans to dry and they can be very heavy, so I need a strong hanger for them. Another good reason to get hangers with clamps is to prevent wrinkles and creases that can be caused by folding your pants over the hanger.

For tops and jackets I like a heavy duty plastic hanger. I have purchased the cheap light plastic hangers before and they break so easily that I just spend the extra pennies and get one that is a little bit stronger.

There are lots of hangers and hanging accessories that help with specialty clothing pieces or help with saving space and extending closet space. There are padded hangers if you have delicate items you are hanging, hangers with grips for silky items and even hanger extenders to hang pants with tops.

My advice to you is to start simple and then jump in. You’ll know once you start hanging pieces what hangers you’ll need for them. If you start with a basic plastic hanger and your tops won’t stay on, then you can step up and look for the specialty hangers with confidence.

Good luck!

I’m so glad you wrote. I have the perfect solutions for you that will maximize your vintage clothing and get you the most out of your flea market booth! There are several garment rack options for people who don’t have trucks or SUVs to haul racks back and forth.

Garment Racks are good in the office for one reason – coats. If there are many people working in an office, a garment rack is the perfect solution for all those jackets and coats.

Here is an example of the perfect garment rack to put in an office building for keeping coats and jackets organized. There is plenty of space for many coats and they all get a hanger, as opposed to the hook style of a coat tree.

This particular one has a nice top shelf to set lunch boxes, umbrellas and hats. It holds 4-6 hangers per foot so there will be plenty of storage space for coats. This option is also nice for saving space because it will fit conveniently in any corner and doesn’t take up too much space.

A garment rack like this one is also good for large families. This rack would be great to put in the garage or in an area where your family can put their coats on before heading out.

I found this garment rack option at stacksandstacks.com. Not only does it fit conveniently in your closet, but also you can put it on either the back of the door or on your closet rod.

The nice thing about this rack is the length. You can store a lot more pants and take up less space than if they were all individually hanging side by side. The hangers on the rack are ultra-convenient because they pull out for easy removal and placing.

Another great closet garment rack option is the over the door garment rack. This option is great because you get the extra storage and function of a garment rack but there is no floor space used up, just space that is unused anyway.

It isn’t permanent so you can move it to whichever closet you need it in. This is also a great idea for extra laundry room storage options.
